I participated in a group break recently where a blaster box of 2013 Topps Series 1 was cracked open and had the Rangers and Rays as my teams (of course). I had never done this before and it was actually fun to participate in.
The blasters for Topps of course come with a special commemorative patch card included. I have opened a couple blasters before and the patches didn't really grab my attention. All this changed when the organizer, as luck would have it, pulled out this beauty:
It's a cool silken style patch of his 2012 rookie card and I like it. I like it a lot. I have opened several blasters before and the patches never really interested me, so I am super glad I was able to nab this one during the group break. I had thought about trading one of my other patch cards for this one, but I don't have to now! It was probably the best card of the box.
There were no autos or relics in there, but there were some nifty parallels. Overall I'd say I am satisfied with the cards I received and am on my way to collecting the team sets. Eventually I'll be putting up my trade bait cards and want lists etc. so as to start trading with you all so as to start bolstering my collection.
